Port Blair, Feb. 8: National Science Day is celebrated every year in India on the 28th February in order to provide the Respect to the Discovery of Raman effect by the Indian physicist. Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was honoured with many awards and won the Nobel Prize in the Subject of Physics in 1930.The Government of India designates this Day as National Science Day in the year 1986 and since then various programmes are being organised across the country. The Department of Science and Technology, A&N Administration also Celebrate this day by organising various programmes.

As part of the celebration, the Department of Science & Technology, A & N Administration is organising a Painting competition for college level students on the theme: ‘Global Science for Global Wellbeing’ on online mode. The size of the drawing sheet should be 36 cmX56 cm.

Students may post the paintings in WhatsApp number 9474213985 latest by 24th February, 2023. Only one entry per student will be considered for the competition. The participants may write their name, Department name and contact numbers at the right side bottom of the Painting. Winners will be awarded with certificate and prizes.
