Port Blair, Feb 19: The Bharat Scouts & Guides Wing of Wimberlygunj Educational Zone commenced its Zonal Level five days Residential Camp for Scouts & Guides yesterday at GMS Kanyapuram. The camp which was inaugurated by Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, District Chief Commissioner, BS&G/DEO, Wimberlygunj as the chief guest will continue upto Feb. 21.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest welcomed the Scouts & Guides and stressed on the role of Scouts & Guides in society. He also urged the participants to obey the Scouts/Guides law and promise and implement the same in their lives. Smti Bindu Suresh and Shri P Abdul Basheer also shared their opinions and motivated the Scouts & Guides to become a good citizen of the country.

Smti Bindu Suresh, Teacher In-charge, GMS Kanyapuram was the guest of honour and Shri P. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Kanyapuram was the special guest. Altogether, 66 Scouts & Guides from 13 Schools (GSSS/GSS/GMS) and 14 Scouts Masters and Guide Captains are participating in the camp.

Shri Samir Kumar Das, GTT/In-charge, Scouts & Guides who is the Camp Commander presented the 5 Days courses to be conducted during this Camp.

Smti Vijaya Laxmi, Retired HM (P), Shri Rajeswaran, GTT, Shri V Raju, PST, Smti T Rajalakshmi, Lab. Asst. & Smti Jyotshna Ghosal, PST are the resource persons for this camp. The opening ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri S P Chandramouli, PST.
