Port Blair, Feb 22: The Director General of Police, A&N Islands, Shri Neeraj Thakur, IPS inaugurated 50 newly constructed quarters for IRBn personnel at IRBn HQ, Port Mout today in the presence of senior Officers of A&N Police, APWD and staff of IRBn. To mark the occasion, the chief guest and senior Officers planted saplings of fruit bearing trees around the newly constructed complex.

The DGP, A&N Islands appreciated the construction agency i.e APWD. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 11 crore. Further, the chief guest appreciated the jawans for apprehension of foreign poachers in remote & difficult terrain of LOP Tillongchaung with hard work and perseverance. He also informed the IRBn Personnel about the overall developmental projects including firing range, rain water harvesting and sports complex etc. for up-gradation of IRBn infrastructure. Now, with the addition of these 50 new quarters, more families of IRBn personnel will get accommodated in the campus. The IRBn now has a total of 110 (14-Type-III & 96 Type-II) Govt. Quarters.
