Diglipur, March 3: The Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Shri Ankit Yadav IAS, visited Diglipur region. He was accompanied by Shri Anuj Kumar Bharti, Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur, Shri M. Rajendra Kumar, Block Development Officer, Diglipur, and Revenue Department officials and inspected the progress of various projects.

Soon after arrival, the Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with the HoDs and PRIs at the APWD guest house Conference hall during which Deputy Commissioner enquired about the issues and challenges faced by the local inhabitants. Sector-wise issues pertaining to the road, electricity, water, school, health, tourism, forests & revenue matters were highlighted by the public representatives. Upon this, the Deputy Commissioner assured that genuine grievances which require immediate redressal will be looked into and the concerned officials were directed to ensure their speedy redressal for the convenience of the people.

Later, the team visited the site to inspect the work under Amrit Sarovar at RK Gram and Keralapuram villages and directions were issued to ensure the completion of all the Amrit Sarovar by 31st March, 2023. After this, he visited the water purification plant at Naveen Nagar and enquired about the status of water supply and the required arrangements in view of the upcoming summer season.

In the evening, the Deputy Commissioner visited Vivekananda Stadium along with Officials of Education and Sports Deptt. and directions were given for the improvement of lighting, hygiene, water sources, and fencing to improve the sports facilities. He also directed for urgent repair and improvements of basic amenities at the Multi-purpose hall at Vivekananda Stadium. Thereafter, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the under-construction new vegetable market at Subashgram where the Panchayat Members accorded a warm welcome to him. The Pradhan of Subashgram highlighted various grievances of the Subashgram Panchayat area which require immediate redressal including set apart of land for waste management, MNREGA related works etc. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the grievances will be resolved at the earliest. Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Community Health Centre and interacted with CMO, Dr. HM Siddharaju and other Doctors and patients. He also visited various general wards and interacted with the patients there and discussed with the CMO and enquired about the immediate requirements of the CHC. Thereafter, the DC inspected the PSA Plant and the ongoing construction of Sub District Hospital.

A Revenue camp will also be organized on March 4, 2023 at 10 am in the Conference Hall of Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur for hearing of Sub Division cases pertaining to Diglipur Tehsil.
