Port Blair, March 6: The Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration organized a short term Skilled Development training program on ‘Handicrafts (Coconut Shell & Wood) products’ at Gram Panchayat Bambooflat - I from Feb. 13, 2023. Altogether, 15 candidates participated in the training program and were imparted the basic skills and knowledge for making handicrafts, thus creating self-employment opportunities and avenues for their livelihood.

The training program concluded today with a valedictory function followed by awareness program for dissemination of information on various schemes implemented by the Directorate of Industries and A & N Khadi & Village Industries Board. The handicraft products produced during the training was showcased and it received appreciation from PRI representatives and villagers.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shiv Chander More, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Bambooflat – I appreciated the handicraft products made by the trainees and advised them to apply the skills obtained during the course of the training program for the betterment of their livelihood.
