Member of Parliament Refers Women as the Backbone of Our Society
Port Blair, March 6: Two important programs in connection with International Women's Day were organised at Namunaghar and Gupta Para areas of South Andaman District. The International Women's Day program was held in the Namunaghar area on Sunday and at Gupta Para on Saturday. Addressing the gathering at Namunaghar, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma emphasized on three major points for the welfare of women in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
In his address, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma emphasized the importance of women's health and well-being, stating that they are the backbone of our society and behind every happy family there is a lot of hard work and sacrifices made by women.
He also urged women, especially girls, to have a vision for their lives and focus on progress and bringing positive changes in society. He encouraged women to strive for financial independence, not only to help themselves but also to assist their family and others and to enhance their standing in society.
During the program at Namunaghar, the ladies of the area requested the Member of Parliament to open a driving school at Namunaghar area as it is done by the Member of Parliament in some other areas.
They said that a lot of ladies of the area are interested in learning to drive, especially two-wheelers and the region does not have any such facilities. The Member of Parliament assured the ladies to open a driving school at Namumaghar soon as per their requests.
The programs were attended by a large number of women from different walks of life who appreciated Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma's efforts to empower women in Andaman & Nicobar Island.
