Port Blair, March 13: A delegation of Andaman Moplah Service Organization (AMSO) comprising of President, Sh. N Yousuf; General Secretary, Sh. Abdul Siddique, Advisory Member; Sh. O. Abdul Rehman; Sh. Abdul Gafoor, Vice-President; Sh. Mohammed Rafi, Chairman, 100 Years Sub-Committee, Sh. Abdul Rasheed, Executive Member met Mr. Keshav Chandra, Chief Secretary, ANI today and submitted the matter of providing 38% OBC reservation in appointment of teachers on short term contract basis in Education Department.
The delegation requested to review the vacancy notice dated 23rd February 2023, inviting applications to fill 539 posts of GTT and PST on short term contract basis. The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing and assured to take up necessary action with concerned department.
The delegation also met Ms. Pallabi Sarkar, Secretary cum Director (Social Welfare) and appraised the matter. Assurance of favorable and early action was given to address the legitimate demand of OBC community.
The representation was also submitted to Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Secretary (Education) and Director (Education).
