Port Blair, March 14: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration to organize Baul music programme in different parts of North & Middle Andaman, Little Andaman, Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament expressed heartfelt gratitude for the two-day 'Shruti Amrut' festival that was recently organized by the Ministry of Culture, GoI, at the DBRAIT Auditorium. He said that the festival was a resounding success, and the soulful performance of Baul Singer Parvathy Baul left an indelible impression on the audience.

The Member of Parliament pointed out that the entire North & Middle Andaman, Little Andaman, Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep region, which is dominated by Bengali population, could not witness this superb performance of Baul Singer Parvathy Baul.

He said that the people of this region are deeply rooted in their own culture and traditions, and for them, Baul music is divine.

He requested the Chief Secretary to consider organizing similar soulful programmes in different parts of North and Middle Andaman, Little Andaman, Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep so that people from the region can enjoy traditional folk music and encourage their children to remain connected with their rich tradition and values.

The Member of Parliament mentioned that such initiatives will not only preserve and promote the culture and heritage of the region but also provide a platform for artists and musicians to showcase their talents.
