Inner Wheel Conducts Eye & Dental Check-up Camp at Govt. Middle School, Brichgunj

Port Blair, March 29: Inner Wheel Club and Mrs. Raj Mahajan, Social Worker and Charter President of Inner Wheel Club, organized a free dental and eye check-up camp in association with Dr. Poonam Arora’s, Arora Dental Clinic & Dr Aggarwal Eye Hospital, Port Blair for the students of Govt. Middle School, Brichgunj, Port Blair to mark the death anniversary of Mrs. Mahajan's husband, Late. Shri. Kundan Mahajan.

The Chief Guest at this event was Swami Suddhananda Saraswati ji from the Chinmaya Mission. He taught the students the value of maintaining good personal hygiene and the 20-20-20 eye strain reduction rule. He explained them to take a 20-second break every 20 minutes and fix attention on someplace at least 20 feet away. To lessen eye strain, he suggested that everyone should practice this rule.

Mrs. Raj Mahajan donated a UV water filter to the school, stating that access to clean water is a right of every child. Mrs. Mahajan is also an Honorary member of the Mahavir Seva Sadan (MSS) a Charitable organization for differently abled. She asked the students to raise awareness so that anyone in need of an artificial hand or limb can get in touch with her for free assistance.

Dr. Poonam Arora, Past President of the Inner Wheel Club, spoke to the students about the significance of personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, environmental hygiene, and civic responsibilities. She also ascertained that any student or the school could count on her & contact her for any help.

Approximately 100 students underwent a comprehensive dental and eye examination. Arora Dental Clinic dentists led by Dr. Priya and Dr. Diksha examined the children. They informed them of their dental problems and habits, and provided relevant information to raise awareness on oral hygiene.

This successful event for the students of Govt. Middle School, Brichgunj was graced by the President & members of the Inner Wheel Club.

Mrs. Jolly, Headmistress, Govt. Middle School, Brichgunj expressed her gratitude to Mrs. Mahajan and Dr. Poonam Arora for organizing such an event for the students.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks present by Mrs Bakhtawar Noble, Secretary Inner Wheel Club.
