Port Blair, April 3: The ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder on Monday accepted the Resignation of Congress Ex- Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha Smt. Elizabeth (N & M Andaman) and other Five Zilla Parishad Members of N & M Andaman namely Smt. Sujata Dey (Urmilapur Constituency), Shri. Tapas Roy (Rangat Constituency), Shri. Ashok Howlader (Long Island Constituency), Shri. Mahadeb Gain (Radhanagar Constituency) and Shri. Pradip Das (Subhash Gram Constituency).
The Congress Party always stood behind Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha, Up-Adhyaksh and Zilla Parishad Members as a Solid Pillar by giving them seats for contesting elections. They campaigned using the Symbol of Congress Party during the election and the Congress Party team made them win under the banner of the Indian National Congress, said a release from ANTCC.
On 1st of April 2023 a High Level Congress Committee Meeting was held in the Congress office, Gandhi Bhavan to review the letter of resignation of Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha and Zilla Parishad Members from the Congress Party. Accordingly, the decision has been constituted in acceptance of the Resignation from the Primary Membership of Congress Party with immediate effect.
