Port Blair, April 10: The President, Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee, Shri. Rangalal Halder has demands the Administration for accelerating the Construction of NH-4 Roads in North & Middle Andaman.

In the letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Halder said that the roads from Baratang to Rangat and Swadeshnagar to Mayabunder are still in a poor condition with dust and pits everywhere. The maintenance works are carried at a snail pace.

He said that the referred patients of North & Middle Andaman experience problems while travelling to Port Blair through this partially completed NH-4 and can be a risk for the patients in covering a long distance through this medium of transportation.

He said, “Owing to the poor conditions of roads, everyday there is a mishap of some sort. During the rains, the situation becomes the worst as the vehicles get stuck miserably in the mud. In the upcoming times, there might also be a chance of water logging”.

Bairagi requested the Administration to kindly look into the issue and direct the NHIDCL to complete the construction of the NH-4 roads immediately which will provide immense relief and sort the distress of the Commuters at North & Middle Andaman.
