Public Outreach and Mass Mobilization Exercises to be Organised by Industries Department
Port Blair, May 19: Aligning with important movement announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India at COP 26 Glasgow-LiFE- that is being steered by Environment, Forest and Climate change, Govt. of India, the Department of Industries, A & N Administration will be organizing public outreach and mass mobilization exercises in May/June which will culminate with a mega event scheduled to be organized on 5th June, 2023 on the eve of World Environment Day. LiFE stands for Lifestyle for Environment and aims to propagate a healthy and sustainable way of living based on ancient Indian traditions and values of conservation and modernization.
On May19, a Pledge on Mission-LiFE was administered by Shri Abhishek Bhukal, Director of Industries to all the employees of Industries Department. Pledge taking events were also organized in all Extension Office (Branch Office) of the Department located at Diglipur, Bakultala, Little Andaman and Car Nicobar.
This was followed by a Walkathon involving all the staff of Industries Department. The Walkathon was flagged off by the Director of Industries who also participated in the event. The Walkathon commenced from the Sagarika Emporium, Middle Point passed through Bengali Club, CE Office (APWD), BSNL Telephone Bhawan and concluded at Directorate of Industries building opposite to KV School, Port Blair. Nearly, 100 employees from Directorate of Industries, District Industries Centre, Andaman Nicobar Islands Khadi Village Industries Board and Andaman & Nicobar Emporium-Sagarika participated in the event by holding banners and posters depicting the slogan of ‘Sustainable way of Living and value of conservation and moderation’

31/05/2023 - 10:00 am: Plastic Cleanup Campaign at Industrial Estate, Little Andaman
02/06/2023 - 10:00 am: Beach Cleaning at Haddo Seashore.
05/06/2023 - 10:00 am: Zero Leakage Campaign at IE Dollygunj, G/Charma, Mithakhari, LA & Bakultala
