Port Blair, May 21: The Congress Campaign Committee Chairman, A&N Islands Mr. TSG Bhasker on Friday demanded for filling up of Ex-Cadre posts in various departments by promoting Feeder Grade Officers from Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Mr. Bhasker expressed his concern over the non-posting of a single local officer from A&N Islands in DANICS and Ex-Cadre posts under Administration.

"It has come to my notice that in the Cadre as well as Ex-Cadre posts, the Entry Grade Officers of DANICS from Delhi are occupying the posts by depriving the legitimate seniority of Local Feeder Grade Officers", he said.

He added that at present no DPC is being held in DANICS and only Direct Entry Grade officers are sent to these Islands.

Further, Mr. Bhasker mentioned "It is painful to note that while DPC is being held for DANICS in the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Island officers in the Feeder Grade posts are not being considered for either Cadre or for Ex-Cadre posts".

He highlighted that the Feeder Grade Officers to DANICS from these Islands have become age old who are at the verge of retiring without any promotion to higher posts.

"Now the Administration is also entrusting the charges of the Ex-Cadre posts of Executive Secretary, AAJVS, Project Officer, ITDP, DRCS (RCS) and Deputy Director, Civil Supplies to the DANICS officers posted from Delhi by snatching the opportunity of local officers. This is one kind of favouritism being extended to the Delhi belt Civil Service officers by the A&N Administration", he alleged.

He also suggested that since DPC in DANICS are not being held on timely basis, the candidature of ARCS, Tehsildars, BDO's and OS of the Administration (if in the feeder grade) should be given consideration for the Ex-Cadre posts of the Executive Secretary, AAJVS, the DRCS (RCS), the Deputy Director, Civil Supplies and the Project Officer, ITDP, Car Nicobar on Adhoc Basis and relieve the charges from all Entry Grade DANICS who came from Delhi.

"This act will be an encouragement for the Feeder Grade local officers to work more vigorously in the Departments", concluded Mr. Bhasker.
