Port Blair, May 28: The month long summer Holiday Camp-2023 organized by the Science Centre concluded with a valedictory function held in its premises at Goodwill Estate today. Dr. Eaknath B Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest along with other dignitaries inspected the various models viz. Aero Modeling, Creative Science, Fun Biology, Electricity Projects, Robotic Science, Model Rocketry, Fun Mathematics & Astronomy presented by the students. He also interacted with students while inspecting the displayed models.

The chief guest gave away prizes & certificates to the best performers in various competitions held during the camp. While appreciating the efforts of Science Centre, he said that these students are the budding scientists of the Islands; hence, they should keep on trying till they achieve their goals. He also lauded the resource person & staff of the Science Centre for successfully conducting the Holiday Camp.

Kumari Neeti Awara, Kumar T. Varun & Kumari M. Jagriti Bhaskar shared their experiences of the camp while Kumar D. Pranav Vaseegaran, Kumar Eric Thomas Sajan & Kumar Anirudh Sahoo presented musical tunes on the Keyboard & Guitar during the function.

The entire programme was anchored by the student participant Kumari Sana. The models prepared by the students were also kept displayed in the Science Centre for viewing by their parents and tourists. Around 140 students from various rural & urban schools attended the holiday camp.

In his welcome address, Shri Debashis Paul, Education Officer of the Science Centre gave a brief account of the activities of the Science Centre.

The function concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Smti Meethu Ayepaw, Resource person of the programme.
