Port Blair, June 6: The Aberdeen Police Station cracked a significant burglary case within a remarkable timeframe of just three hours. On May 24, 2023, at 11:55 AM, a burglary was reported at Marine Hill, leading to the theft of valuable items, including gold ornaments weighing over 50 guineas, silver ornaments weighing approximately 270 grams, and cash amounting to Rs. 70,000.

Promptly upon receiving the complaint, the Aberdeen Police Station registered an FIR and assigned the investigation to SI Jeetender Lall. Subsequently, a team was formed, consisting of Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO of PS Aberdeen, SI Jeetender Lall (investigating officer), and a group of diligent officers including HC/811 Sunil Singh Yadav, HC/868 P.C Das, HC/1363 A.K Pandey, HC/2055 S.Yamant Rao, HC/2329 Nakul Halder, HC/778 Preeti, PC/481 Sweta Singh, PC/866 S.N Rao, PC/2687 Sandeep Lakra, PC/2817 Eswar Rao, PC/2579 P.Moideen, PC/245 P.Krishna Rao, PC/383 Mohammed Rafiq, PC/1157 Alexus Toppo, PC/891 Dilip Mondal, PC/1127 Surjit Das, and PC(D)/3005 Shem Peter.

The team conducted a swift operation, which resulted in the successful apprehension of three burglars. Moreover, they managed to recover the majority of the stolen items, including gold ornaments weighing over 435 grams, silver ornaments weighing over 263 grams, and the entire sum of Rs. 70,000 in cash. Additionally, Rs. 17,000 believed to be proceeds from the stolen property were also recovered. The investigation is currently ongoing to gather further evidence.

The entire investigation was carried out under the guidance of Sh. Arshdeep Singh Panwar, DANIPS, the Sub Divisional Police Officer of South Andaman, and under the supervision of Sh. Kalaivanan R., IPS, the Superintendent of Police for the South Andaman District.
