Port Blair, June 28: As part of Swachh Survekshan-2023, Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) organized a training session for Sanitary Inspectors and Junior Engineers of the Council on the theme ‘Mera Shahar, Meri Pehchan’ to equip its officials on various aspects of conducting Swachh Survekshan 2023, including best practices in cleanliness and waste management, effective communication strategies, and collaborative approaches involving citizens and stakeholders. The training was conducted by Superintending Engineer of PBMC at the conference hall of PBMC.

The training session was graced by Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council. Shri Meena provided valuable insights on how to achieve the goals of the Swachh Survekshan and guided the team on preparing the city for the event on targeted approach.

In this regard, all citizens have been requested to actively participate in the Swachh Survekshan 2023 under the theme ‘Mera Shahar, Meri Pehchan’ (My City, My Identity) to contribute towards making the city the cleanest and greenest in the country. This call for participation demonstrates the importance of involving the entire community in achieving a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

By organizing such training sessions and engaging citizens, the city authorities are taking proactive steps to improve cleanliness and environmental consciousness, which is likely to have a positive impact on the overall well-being of the city and its residents.
