Car Nicobar, July 7: A Multi-Disciplinary Health Camp (Allopathy, Dental & Ayurveda) was conducted yesterday at Big Lapathy Community Hall, Car Nicobar in collaboration with IAF, Car Nicobar Station for the villagers of Big Lapathy, Small Lapathy, Mus, Kinmai and Tapoiming villages.

In addition to general health check up with basic investigation, NCD Screening, Eye Screening, Dental Check-up and Ayurveda treatment was also provided to the beneficiaries / villagers. A total of 84 villagers, including 22 school students attended the health camp. During the camp, 4 Cataract cases and 11 cases of refractive error were detected under eye screening. 66 cases were screened by Dental Surgeon for oral hygiene. 24 cases were treated for their ailments by MO Ayurveda, 40 Cases of hypertension and 4 cases of diabetes were also examined and provided treatment by the SMO, IAF.

Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (Nicobar District) also paid a visit to the camp and expressed happiness on the conduct of such activities benefitting the needy local villagers. He also interacted with the villagers, Health Officials and instructed Medical Superintendent, BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar to expedite the process to provide free spectacles to all the cases of refractive error including students as per the scheme under NPCB. He further urged that such activities like Health Camps / Health Mela must be organized at regular interval for the benefit of villagers.
