Port Blair, July 7: The Congress President, Shri Rangalal Halder and Campaign Committee Chairman, Shri. TSG Bhasker met the DGP, A&N Police, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastava, IPS on 4th July 2023.
The leaders expressed their heartfelt congratulations to Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastava on his appointment as the DGP of the A&N Islands.
During the interaction, the DGP was briefed about certain issues being faced by the youths in the police recruitment process. The issues such as the names of ST candidates of other states applied for police recruitment being displayed in the ST reserved list of A&N Islands was highlighted.
Discussions were also held regarding the present requirement of driving license for police recruitment & the difficulties being faced by the candidates to get driving licence within the given time frame.
Also, the prerequisite need for women candidates to have a two wheeler driving licence with gear was discussed. The DGP assured to resolve the issues.
Halder and Bhasker expressed their gratitude towards the DGP for giving his valuable time amidst his busy schedule.
