Interrogation Reveals the Names of 2 IRBn Personnel Involved in the Crime

Port Blair, July 10: In continuation of Zero Tolerance policy against any kind of drugs, the team of Police Station Pahargaon has once again proved their efficiency and booked ten persons under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and recovered 125 gms of methamphetamine till now.

On 27/06/2023, a credible information was received from an informer that one person namely, M Kasinathan is in possession of Methamphetamine with the intention to sell it to the potential peddlers and consumers. Immediately, a team was constituted comprising SI Manish Narayan, PC/930 Jagdish Babu, PC/175 S S Yadav and LPC/1279 Sini Raju under the supervision of Inspr. Hari Narayan, SHO PS Pahargaon. The team successfully conducted a raid at Bathubasti near School Gate and arrested M Kasinathan (44) years S/o Late N Raman R/o Austinabad near Mariamman Temple and recovered 97 gms of methamphetamine from his possession following due procedure under provisions of NDPS Act 1985.

The entire raid took place under the supervision of Shri. Sunny Gupta, IPS, SDPO South Andaman.

During investigation, the accused R Kasinathan was interrogated and he revealed that he bought 200 grams of Methamphetamine from one IRBn personnel namely Amrita Malakar for further selling it to the consumers. Subsequently, both were arrested. Further, on technical analysis of CDRs, bank statements and physical interrogation, it was revealed that Amrita Malakar procured 02 packets of Methamphetamine from another IRBn constable Jaidev Hawlader, who had confessed the same and was also arrested in the instant case. 

In addition, during interrogation they revealed that the sale of 500 grams of Methamphetamine took place between Amrita Malakar and one Nadeem alias Pawan. In this deal, Karthick @ dada, Julku Mali alias Prakash and Manikandan have facilitated the sale of illegal drugs. 

Further, the aforesaid 500 grams of Methamphetamine was sold to one Abdul Umran @ Sonu by Pawan. On interrogating Sonu, he disclosed that Methamphetamine is present at his residence. Immediately, a team was constituted, and a raid was conducted on 07/07/23 late night as per the provisions of NDPS Act of 1985 and 28 grams of Meth was recovered from the residence of Sonu.

Based on the above information and sufficient evidences, the involved accused persons namely 1) Abdul Umran @ Sonu S/o Late Abdul Majid (38)yrs Pvt Worker Chicken Seller R/o Round Basti, 2) Kartick Roy @ Dada S/o Sh. Santi Roy (31)yrs Pvt Worker R/o Garacharam near Primary School, 3) R Manikandan S/o Sh. Rama Swamy (34)yrs Pvt Worker R/o New Pahargaon, 4) Nadeem @ Pawan S/o Mariyanus Kerketta (29)yrs Pvt Worker R/o Namunaghar, Uppar Basti, 5) Julku Malli @Prakash S/o Late Sona Malli (32)yrs Pvt Worker R/o Kamraj Nagar near Ganesh Temple, 6) Moideen Gani S/o Sh. A S Madar (45)yrs Pvt Worker, Tourist Guide R/o Dignabad were arrested on 08/07/2023 at PS Pahargaon and subsequently one more accused Babul Sarkar S/o Late Haran Sarkar (44)yrs Ex-Pradhan of Netaji Nagar Panchayat, Hut Bay R/o Kalinagar, Hut Bay was arrested on 09/07/2023 and the further investigation of the instant case is under progress. The team which conducted the raid and investigation will be suitably rewarded by the Director General of Police, A&N Islands.

It is also to inform that strict departmental action will also be taken against the involved IRBn staff.  Once again, it is informed to the public that A&N Police adopts Zero Tolerance Policy against any kind of illegal activities especially drugs and strict action will be taken against the offenders.
