Port Blair, July 12: Like every year, this year also the Freshwater Fish Seed Farm, Nayagaon, Department of Fisheries, A & N Administration has produced Freshwater Fish Seeds of Indian Major Carps (IMC) and has started fish seed distribution among the fish farmers of A & N Islands from today onwards.

In the first phase of distribution, 184 oxygenated packets of fish seeds (fry) of Indian Major Carps (IMC) has been distributed to 88 fish farmers of Gram Panchayat Sippighat and Guptapara today on nominal rate fixed by the Department. In addition to this, around 8.5 Lakhs of fish spawn of Indian Major Carps (IMC) has also been distributed to the fish farmers of A & N Islands during the season.

Interested fish farmers have been requested to collect the freshwater fish seeds (Spawn/Fry/Fingerlings) from the place of distribution/ Freshwater Fish Seed Farm, Nayagaon based on availability.
