Port Blair, July 17: On 17th July 2023, the SBI Chairman Shri Dinesh Khara inaugurated the renovated SBI Port Blair Branch and lounge virtually. Shri Dilkush Meena, IAS, Secretary Port Blair Municipal Council graced the occasion as special Guest. This is an initiative by the Bank for strengthening the relationship with the Government Departments.
Shri Khara in his address welcomed all dignitaries present and said that State Bank of India is the most efficient partner of Government of India in smooth and efficient implementation of various Govt Schemes. With the wide network of more than 23000 branches and 76000 Banking Correspondent and Customer Service Points, State Bank of India has always been at the forefront in delivering the benefits of various Govt Schemes. SBI is grateful to the trust reposed on us by all government functionaries. One of the key interfaces for such initiatives is our Secretariat Branches functioning across the country. Presently 48 branches are functioning in the State Capitals to cater not only the Government Departments and Treasuries but also the various employees of Government Departments.
Shri Dilkush Meena, IAS welcomed the initiatives taken by the Chairman of SBI. He acknowledged that Bank has always extended its support and he also appreciated the branch head and SBI staff for maintaining a very cordial relationship with Govt Officials, various institutions and public at large. The Bank has always extended its support in the development of Island’s economy & Carrying forward various government initiatives from time to time.
