Port Blair, July 24: Under the leadership of ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder, a press conference was held today by the Mahila Congress Team at Congress Office, Port Blair against the violence being carried on the minorities and womens of Manipur.

While addressing the meet, the Mahila’s strongly condemned the recent spate of violence against minorities and women in Manipur and expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of atrocities and emphasized the need for immediate action to protect the vulnerable sections of the society.

The Mahila Coordinator North & Middle Andaman Ms. Mariyam Bibi said that, "The state government, led by the BJP, cannot turn a blind eye to the plight of these vulnerable communities. She emphasized the need for stringent laws and effective law enforcement to deter potential offenders and protect the rights of women. 

The Mahila Coordinator South Andaman Smt. Zubaida Begum highlighted the importance of upholding the principles of secularism and promoting a harmonious and inclusive society. She urged the government to take proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, irrespective of their caste, religion, or gender, especially to the women communities in Manipur.

The Mahila Active Worker Smt. M Bindu Kumari has strongly demanded for enhanced efforts in empowering women and providing them with a safe environment to thrive in. She also targets the failure of the governance in the state and the union government over this disheartening Violence.

Mahila Leader Smt. Malti Mondal also raised her concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Manipur and called upon the BJP government to address the issues urgently and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The press conference concluded by reiterating their commitment in safeguarding the rights and dignity of all citizens and pledged to work towards a more inclusive and equitable society.

The conference was attended by the various other Mahila Leaders and Cadres to raise their concerns over this discouraging incident.
