Port Blair, Aug 2: In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder has requested for inclusion of M.Sc. Nursing course to Andaman Administration’s quota in mainland nursing medical colleges.

He stated that the Andaman & Nicobar Islands have a talented pool of students with a strong interest in M.Sc. Nursing. Due to the geographical constraints and non-availability of specialized courses in the Islands, many students’ faces difficulties in accessing higher quality education in their chosen fields.

Halder added that most of the students prefer to study at Kolkata Nursing colleges as the city provide an immense opportunity to the students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands making it affordable for the students to alleviate the burden of airfare rates associated while traveling to Kolkata as compared to other distant states and cities.

He has also mentioned that introducing the M.Sc. Nursing course in Andaman Administration quota would open up new opportunities for students from the region and help to bridge this educational gap.

He requested to consider the proposal and initiate discussions with relevant authorities to make this vision a reality.
