Port Blair, Aug 8: Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) will host a Rs. 1,25,000/- award money ‘AICF Chess For Everyone’ All India FIDE rating Chess Tournament 2023 from 11th to 15th August 2023 at Hotel TSG Grand, Dollygunj, Port Blair.
This is the first time, ANCA is hosting an All India level FIDE Rating Chess Tournament. Around 160 Chess players from 15 different states of India viz. Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, West Bengal, Defence Accounts Sports Control Board (DASCB) and the host state A & N Islands have got their names registered for participation.
The tournament would provide exposure to the local talent and an opportunity to play against the best in the country, realistically assess their strengths and weaknesses, learn new game plan and strategies while simultaneously promoting our isles as a destination for chess tourism.
Since the tournament is FIDE Rated, it also provides best chance to the unrated players to vie for honour and get International rating by winning against requisite rated players.
