Port Blair, Aug 9: As per the direction of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, the House to House visit by Booth Level Officers from 21.07.2023 to 21.08.2023 to verify all entries in the Voter lists of Andaman & Nicobar Parliamentary Constituency has already been started.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Binay Bhushan, IAS, held a meeting with the representatives of recognized & un-recognized political parties and informed them about the house to house visit (H2H) by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from 21.07.2023 to 21.08.2023 to verify the entries in the voter lists and sought their cooperation in creating mass awareness amongst the citizens of this Union Territory about the need to provide correct information to the BLOs regarding un-enrolled eligible citizens, prospective voters as well as dead and permanently shifted electors to make the electoral rolls pure, healthy, and inclusive in all aspects.

He further requested all the recognized political parties to ensure appointment of Booth Level Agents for all the polling Stations, who will coordinate the Booth Level Officers for inclusion of left-out eligible citizens and deletion of dead or permanently shifted electors.

During the campaign, all the 412 BLOs will visit each and every house of their allotted polling station area and verify each and every entry in the electoral roll.

Further, Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands also held a meeting with all the District Election Officers (DEOs) to review the progress of House to House Survey and preparedness of Special Summary Revision-2024.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands also appealed to the General Public of this UT to fully cooperate with the BLOs during the H2H survey in getting their entries verified and also provide the information regarding un-enrolled eligible citizens and the deceased / permanently shifted members of the family members, a press release from the Deputy CEO, A&N Islands.
