Port Blair, Aug 9: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has taken up the issue of supply of muddy water through pipelines of Kamorta and nearby areas of Kamorta Island with the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary the Member of Parliament mentioned that many residents of Kamorta Island are facing difficulties due to the supply of muddy water through the APWD pipelines for the past two months.

He added that the situation is of particular concern given that Kamorta is a remote area with limited access to essential services, including proper healthcare facilities. The supply of muddy water not only raises health and hygiene concerns but also instils fear among the islanders.

Considering the gravity of the situation and the potential health risks it poses to the residents, he requested the Chief Secretary to intervene into this issue and direct the concerned department to take immediate action to identify the source of the issue and rectify the fault in the water supply system.
