Port Blair, Aug 14: The Fisheries Training Center, Marine Hill, Department of Fisheries in association with DBRAIT, Dollygunj and with the financial assistance of National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) will organize a three days training programme on ‘Fish Value Addition’ during the last week of August, 2023. The programme will cover all the aspects of fish and fishery product development by imparting hands-on-training in fish handling, cutting, packaging, pickling, drying and development of breaded/battered products, fish sausages etc. A total of 25 beneficiaries will be selected for undergoing training and the Department will also hand hold the trained groups for undertaking commercial activities through its scheme.

Applications are invited in prescribed format from the interested Fisherwomen/Women fish farmer/Women SHGs/ Women Entrepreneur/ Tribal Women and Unemployed youth (female only) to undergo the training programme. The selected trainee will be provided Daily Allowance @ Rs.300/- and Travelling Allowance @ Rs.100/- per day in addition to lunch and refreshments.

The interested female applicants may contact the nearest Zonal Fisheries office/Fisheries Sub-Stations for applications and the filled in application in the prescribed format should be submitted on or before 24.08.2023.
