Car Nicobar, Aug 14: With a vision of ‘Digital India’, the first e-Corner at Car Nicobar was inaugurated by Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District in the premises of DC Office Car Nicobar today. Shri Singh Piyush Vijaykaran, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Administrative Officers and members of Tribal community and officer from many other line departments were also present on the occasion.

Through this e-corner, the citizen can easily access all online services in a transparent and speedy manner from the single window system. With the inauguration of this e-corner the following manual services pertaining to Nicobar District has been shifted to online mode -Tribal Certificate, Resident Certificate, Local Certificate, Income Certificate, Senior Citizen, Tribal Pass, Renewal of Tribal Pass, Unemployment Certificate, Family Member Certificate and Dependent Certificate.

During the inaugural function, the DC Nicobar also issued a digitalized senior citizen certificates to the applicants. He also informed that Government officials and employees can access the system from their respective Departments, making it convenient and easily accessible. The introduction of E-Croner in Nicobar District is a step towards modernizing and digitizing administrative work. This type of e-corners will be shortly established at Campbell Bay, Nancowrie, Katchal, Chowra and Teressa Island for the full implementation of online services in the entire District.

Shri Singh Piyush Vijaykaran AC(HQ) requested the general public to avail the free and fair online services from the e-corner.
