Port Blair, Aug 18: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in association with Directorate of Education going to celebrate National Sports Day 2023 on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand (Hockey Wizard) on 29th August, 2023. In this connection the Department of Sports will organize different sports activities in a week long programme.

The following sports discipline will be organizing a part of National Sports Day – 2023

1) Table Tennis (Open) Men/ Women category (Singles & Doubles), Table Tennis (Under 17 Years ) Boys/ Girls (Singles & Doubles): Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall, Netaji Stadium, Port Blair 22nd and 23rd August, 2023

2) Badminton tournament (Open) Men/ Women category (Singles & Doubles), Badminton Tournament (Under 17 Years) Boys/ Girls (Singles & Doubles): Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall, Netaji Stadium, Port Blair 24th& 27th August, 2023

3) 5 Km. Road Race (Open Women): Start and Finish Point in front of Netaji Stadium to Mazar Pahar and Back. 24.08.2023

4) 10 Km. Road Race (Open Men): Netaji Stadium to Carbyn Cove and back to Netaji Stadium - 24.08.2023

5) Open 05 Km Cycle Race for Women 5 laps with Token: Around Netaji Stadium 26.08.2023

6) Open 10 km Cycle Race for men 10 laps with Token: Around Netaji Stadium 26.08.2023

7) Swimming activities (Men/Women Open), Swimming activities (Boys/Girls Under 17 Years ): Swimming Pool at Netaji Stadium, Complex 26.08.2023 & 27.08.2023 at 4.00 pm

In this regard interested person/team can register their name in the O/o Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Netaji Stadium, Port Blair during the working days at time 9.30 am to 4.30 pm by 21.08.2023.
