Port Blair, Aug 20: A multi-disciplinary health check-up camp was organized by Department of Community Medicine, ANIIMS, in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, for farmers & Dept. staff at Golghar on Aug 19, 2023, under the guidance of Dr. Pragya Sharma, Director, ANIIMS and Shri.Vikram Singh, Director, Department of Agriculture.

A team of doctors, lab technicians and medical-social worker from various Departments including Medicine, Dermatology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Community Medicine, Pathology, Biochemistry & Microbiology screened nearly 130 men & women for commonly prevalent diseases. Anthropometry and vitals were measured for all the participants. Blood samples were also collected to perform various investigations such as Complete Blood Count, Fasting blood sugar level, Hepatitis B&C infections, Liver function tests, Kidney function tests, Thyroid profile and Lipid profile. The camp was organized with the objective of assessing the health status of agriculture staff and farmer’s community facilitating early diagnosis and treatment for commonly preventable diseases like Anaemia, Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Thyroid disorders, Worm infestations, Skin diseases, Gynaecological issues in women as well as other diseases prevalent in their community.
