More than 360 students including teachers were sensitized on the ‘ill effects of alcohol and drug abuse’. It is important for everyone to stay informed and educated about the dangers of drugs and their consequences besides understanding the legal and health risks associated with drug use and distribution.

During the programme, the children were educated on how to stay away from drug peddlers and the dangers associated with illegal drug.

  • We have to choose our company wisely and surround ourselves with positive influences and people who share our values and avoid spending time with individuals who are involved in drug-related activities.
  • Be assertive and politely decline any offers or invitations related to drugs.
  • Don't be afraid to say no and stand your ground, if someone pressures you to get involved.
  • Avoid risky areas and stay away from places known for drug activity, such as certain neighborhoods or areas where drug peddling is common.
  • Trust your instincts. If a situation or person makes you uncomfortable trust your gut feelings and remove yourself from that situation.
  • Keep communication open. Maintain open lines of communication with your friends and family. Let them know about your concerns and seek their support if you feel threatened by drug peddlers.
  • Stay Busy. Engage in positive activities that keep you occupied and focused on your goals. Having hobbies, sports, or other interests can help steer you away from negative influences.
  • Be cautious about sharing personal information. Avoid revealing your address, routines, or personal details that could make you vulnerable.
  • Report suspicious activity. If you come across any drug-related activity or suspicious behavior, report it to the appropriate authorities. Your action could help prevent further illegal activities.
  • Know the Law. Familiarize yourself with the laws related to drugs in your area. This knowledge will empower you to make informed decisions and avoid breaking the law.
  • Avoid Peer Pressure. Don't succumb to peer pressure. Your friends might encourage you to try drugs, but remember that your well-being is more important than fitting in.
  • Build Strong Relationships. Surround yourself with supportive and positive relationships. Having a strong network of friends and family can help you stay focused on a healthy lifestyle.
  • Seek help if needed. If you find yourself struggling with the temptation to use drugs or facing peer pressure, don't hesitate to reach out to a trusted adult, counselor, or Helpline No. 112 for guidance and support.

The safety and well-being of oneself is paramount. Making smart choices and avoiding situations that could lead you down the wrong path will help you stay safe from drug peddlers and the dangers associated with illegal drugs.
