Port Blair, Aug. 23: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in association with Directorate of Education will be celebrating National Sports Day-2023 on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand (Hockey Wizard) on 29th August, 2023. As part of the celebration, the Department will be organizing Road Race on Aug.24, 2023 at 5.30 am and Badminton tournament on the same day from 8.30 am onwards in the Multipurpose Hall, Netaji Stadium.
The Secretary (Sports), A&N Administration will flag off the Road Race for the Men/Women who have already registered their name and other details in the Office of the Department of SYA by 21.08.2023. The details of the events to be conducted are as mentioned below:
1) 5 Km. Road Race (Open Women) Starting and Finishing Point in front of Netaji Stadium to Mazar Pahar and back : 24.08.2023. Reporting time 5.00 am
2) 10 Km. Road Race (Open Men): Netaji Stadium to Corbyn’s Cove and back to Netaji Stadium: 24.08.2023. Reporting time 5.00 am
