Port Blair, Aug. 24: A draft Beach Shacks Policy has been prepared by the Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism, A & N Administration with an objective to promote Responsible Tourism and Sustainable Development along the pristine beaches of these Islands. The A & N Islands known for its breathtaking beaches and rich biodiversity is gaining a popular destination for travelers/tourists seeking natural beauty and cultural experiences. With the increasing popularity of the Islands, it has become crucial to strike a balance between tourism development and environmental preservation.

The   draft   Beach   Shack   Policy   outlines   guidelines   for   establishment, operation and management of Beach Shacks at beaches. The draft policy aims   to   enhance   tourists   experience, preserve   beach   esthetics, promote responsible tourism and maintain ecological balance.

The draft policy has been placed in the public domain, seeking suggestions/comments/inputs from general public, tourism stakeholders, various Departments etc. The draft policy is also available in the Official website of the Directorate of IP&T https://www.andamantourism.gov.in. All comments/suggestions/inputs may be submitted to the Directorate of IP&T by 23/09/2023.
