Port Blair, Aug 30: In a remarkable achievement, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have secured the No.1 Rank (93.97%) among Union Territories and secured the Top 7th Rank among the CAS States/UTs in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) PRAGATI Dashboard of the National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi for the month of July 2023. The CCTNS is a flagship project of MHA and is being regularly monitored by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India & MHA through PRAGATI Dashboard on monthly basis.

The CCTNS PRAGATI Dashboard, a crucial tool for tracking and managing crime data across the nation, reflects the performance, commitment, progressive growth and efficiency of States and UTs in implementing and managing crime prevention and detection measures. The consistent efforts of Andaman and Nicobar Police have resulted in this outstanding accomplishment.

The NCRB's CCTNS PRAGATI Dashboard evaluates several key performance indicators like deployment of CCTNS Software, connectivity at all Police Stations, Percentage of FIRs registered through CCTNS Software, Inter-operable Criminal Justic System (ICJS) Integration & searches, usage of National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) and real-time data replication with National Data Centre (NDC), etc. The top rank secured by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands reflects the commitment and dedication of A&N Police in adopting latest available technology and tools for ensuring the safety and security of the people of A&N Islands.
