Port Blair, Sept. 1: The Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs being the State Registrar for Enrolment & Updation of Aadhaar in this Union Territory is committed to provide Aadhaar services to all the residents in this UT in hassle free manner.

As on date, the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs has established 9 Permanent Enrolment Centres viz. 5 at Port Blair, 1 each at Mayabunder, Diglipur, Rangat & Nicobar. In order to cover the left out residents Special Aadhaar Camps are being conducted in the remotest areas of these Islands. As on date, 432 Nos. of camps have been organized in this UT.

As an endeavor to provide hurdle free services to the residents of Little Andaman, Great Nicobar (Campbell Bay) and Nancowry group of Islands, the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs has established 2 Nos. Permanent Enrolment Centre, 1 each at Little Andaman & Campbell Bay which is operational from 28th August, 2023 at Little Andaman and has become operational from 1st September, 2023 in Campbell Bay. The Permanent Enrolment Centre at Campbell Bay will cover the left out residents of Nancowry group of Islands (Kamorta, Katchal, Teressa & Chowra). The left out residents have been requested to avail the Aadhaar services in Little Andaman and in Campbell Bay.

Further, the Department being the State Registrar, Aadhaar is striving hard to provide all the services of Aadhaar to aspirants of this UT in letter & spirit.

In this regard, the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs also plans to establish 2-3 more Permanent Enrolment Centres for residents of far flung areas of this UT in future.
