Port Blair, Sept. 1: Every year the 16th September is observed as World Ozone Day, is also known as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. The date was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1994, commemorating the date in 1987 when nations signed the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

This special day aims to draw attention of everyone on this planet towards the usefulness of ozone layer, how it protects us from UV rays and how we need to protect it from damaging chemicals. The theme of World Ozone Day 2023 is “Montreal Protocol: fixing the ozone layer and reducing climate change”.

In this connection, the Zoological Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre, Port Blair is organizing drawing completion as a part of celebration of World Ozone Day 2023.  Interested students, teachers, research scholars may participate drawing competition on the theme of the World Ozone Day 2023.  The completed drawing may be submitted to the following email address (This email address is being protected from spambots.
