Port Blair, Sept. 1: Tourism continues to occupy highest priority of Andaman & Nicobar Administration. As a step forward, the UT Administration has formulated policies for various tourism activities i.e. Caravan Tourism, House Boat Tourism, Bird Watching, Beach Shacks, Luxury Tents. Caravan Tourism Policy, Bird Watching Policy and Beach Shacks Policy have already been placed in the public domain, inviting comments/suggestions from tourism stakeholders and general public. The last date for receipt of comments/suggestions in respect of Caravan Tourism Policy, Bird Watching Policy is 12.9.2023 and Beach Shacks Policy by 20.9.2023.

The Administration is also planning to open up new Islands for tourism and as part of this, Cinque Island is being considered to be opened for general public & tourists for day tourism.

In addition to these, other proposals like Blue Flag Certification of 5 Selected Beaches, Inter- Island Cruise Tourism, Simplification of IV Rules, Relaxation of Dry Days, International Air Connectivity, Improvement of Beach Amenities and Facilities, Casino Regulation, Seaplane Connectivity to Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep and Long Island, International Standard Facilities and Amenities at various Jetties & Wharfs etc. are also in progress.
