Port Blair, Sept. 3: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare to allot 10 seats of M.Sc. Nursing in various colleges of Mainland India for the students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, the Member of Parliament mentioned that while there are some seats allocated through administrative quotas for B.Sc. Nursing, there remains an evident dearth of M.Sc. Nursing seats accessible to the students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands who aspire to pursue higher education in this field.

He mentioned that Nursing is a profession that plays a pivotal role in our healthcare system and M.Sc. Nursing has garnered considerable interest among our local youths. Pursuing M.Sc. Nursing not only holds the promise of future recruitment opportunities but also fosters personal growth. However, it is worth noting that obtaining admission to M.Sc. Nursing course in private colleges in the mainland is very difficult, he added.

In light of these considerations, the Member of parliament requested the Hon’ble Minister to allot 10 seats for M.Sc. Nursing in various colleges of Mainland India for the students from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
