Port Blair, Sept. 4: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chemicals & Fertilizers will be arriving on a 3 days visit to A&N Islands tomorrow (Sept. 5). Soon after arrival, the Committee will visit the National Memorial Cellular Jail and thereafter, the Committee will proceed to Swaraj Dweep. On arrival, the Committee will hold informal discussions with representatives of Department of Chemicals and Petro Chemicals & Govt. of Andaman & Nicobar regarding safe usage of insecticides and pesticides in A&N Islands at Hotel Sea Shell Resort.

The itinerary of the Committee for Sept. 6 include an informal discussions with representatives of Department  of Fertilizers, Govt. of Andaman & Nicobar, MFL & FACT regarding availability and distribution of fertilizers in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and an informal discussions with  representatives of Department  of Pharmaceuticals & Medical devices Bureau of India (PMB) and Union Territory, Govt. of A & N Islands  regarding implementation of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadi Pariyojana in A&N Islands.

On Sept. 7, the Committee will witness Light & Sound Show at National Memorial Cellular Jail in the evening. On completion of visit, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chemicals & Fertilizers will depart for mainland on Sept. 8, 2023.
