Port Blair, Sept. 4: ‘World Tourism Day’ is celebrated worldwide every year on 27th September 2023. It is an important event that aims to raise awareness about the significance of tourism around the world. The theme announced by UNWTO for this year WTD-2023 is ‘Tourism and Green Investments’. As part of the celebration, the Tourism Department, A & N Administration has decided to organize WTD Beach Volleyball Knockout Tournament-2023 at Corbyn's Cove beach from 22nd to 24th Sept, 2023, besides other activities based on the theme from 9.30 am to 8 pm in collaboration with tourism stakeholders of the Islands.
Interested participants, 2 players in each team may contact the Executive staff of the Directorate of Tourism viz. Shri Shiva Prasad, Receptionist Ph. No. 9679518214, Shri Farooq Ahmed, Receptionist Ph. No. 9933236077 and Shri Chander Rao, HKAM Ph No. 9434282324 for enrollment of names during office hours from 8.30 am to 5 pm on or before 20th Sept. 2023. The winner of the Beach Volleyball Knockout Tournament will be awarded cash prize of Rs. 20,000/-, Rs.15,000/- & Rs.10,000/- with trophy. The winners will be honored on 27th Sept., 2023 on the day of World Tourism Day-2023.
