Port Blair, Sept. 5: On 05/09/2023, the Police Station Central Crime Station (PS CCS) received critical information regarding possession of Ganja by one Bappa Sutradhar, a 23-year-old individual employed as a Cook at the Chennai Tiffin Centre, located in Mohanpura Market. Mr. Bappa Sutradhar, a permanent resident of Nadia District, West Bengal, currently resides in a rented accommodation in Mohanpura area.

Acting swiftly on this information, our dedicated team from PS CCS uncovered that Mr. Bappa Sutradhar had clandestinely received a shipment of approximately 2 kilograms of Ganja from West Bengal, concealed ingeniously within a footwear parcel, through HF Courier Services around four days ago. During the subsequent police operation, a total of 1.570 kilograms of Ganja was recovered from his possession.

Mr. Bappa Sutradhar has been arrested and further interrogation is underway as we continue to investigate this case thoroughly. Our commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of our community remains unwavering.
