Port Blair, Sept. 10: To reaffirm our fight against drugs, and as a capacity building measure, the Andaman & Nicobar Police in coordination with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), organized a three hours training-cum-workshop programme on “FINANCIAL INVESTIGATION AND REASONS FOR ACQUITTAL IN NDPS CASES” for the Supervisory and Investigating officers of A&N Police in the Conference Hall of the Police Training School, Prothrapur, on 09/09/2023. The training was imparted by a team of officers from NCB, led by Shri Rakesh Chandra Shukla, Zonal Director, Kolkata Zone, NCB. The list of participants included the officers and staff of A&N Police across the ranks from DySPs to HCs.

The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the knowledge and skills of the officers & staff of A&N Police regarding different mandatory and important provisions of “FINANCIAL INVESTIGATION AND REASONS FOR ACQUITTAL IN NDPS CASES”. During the Session, Shri Rakesh Chandra Shukla, Zonal Director and Shri Samiran Paul, Superintendent NCB, Kolkata delivered informative lectures on various topics like procedures for Financial investigation and freezing/attachment of illegally acquired properties of Narco-offenders, seizures and raids under NDPS Act, mandatory provisions of NDPS Act and elaborated the reasons for acquittal in NDPS cases.

Over 70 participants from various Police Stations/Units of A&N Police attended the workshop in offline and online modes. A&N Police is committed towards taking all steps for eradication of the menace of drugs in A&N Islands.
