The news about ‘New Pink Look WhatsApp with extra features’ which is recently doing rounds among the WhatsApp users is a hoax which can lead to hacking of your mobile through malicious software. It is not an uncommon instance, to see the fraudsters come up with variety of new tricks and ways to lure gullible users falling into their trap to commit cyber frauds.

In this regard, Andaman and Nicobar Police issues the following advisory to safeguard yourself against hoax pink WhatsApp: 

1) Do not install pink WhatsApp.

2) If installed immediately uninstall the fake app downloaded on your mobile (go to setting > Apps > WhatsApp (pink logo) and uninstall it.

3) Never click on links received from unknown sources without proper verification/authentication.

4) Always install apps through official app store of Google/IOS store or legitimate website.

5) Do not forward the links or messages to others without authentication/verification.

6) Never share your personal details or financial information like login credentials/passwords/credit or debit card details and other such information online with any one, as it can be misused.

7) Be aware and alert about such attempts of cyber criminals by keeping track of the latest news and updated on activities of Cyber Fraudsters.
