Port Blair, Oct. 3: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is implementing Sports Promotional Schemes across the country to identify talented sportspersons and nurture them to excel at National and International competitions. With this aim, SAI Sports Training Centre (STC), Car Nicobar will be conducting the selection trials at GSSS, Kamorta for the age group of 10 to 16 years as per the vacancy mentioned below for induction at residential schemes in the following disciplines:
Weightlifting: Boys (10), Girls (15) - Total: 25
Cycling: Boys (10), Girls (15) – Total : 25
Athletics: Boys (10) Girls (10) – Total: 20
The eligible candidates will be provided holistic sports ecosystem through coaching by expert coaches, well established training infrastructure, nutritious diet and lodging facility in addition to the exposure of national and international competition. Also, assistance in education expenditure, sports kit and other benefits of over 1,00,000/- pa.
Interested trainees, who belong preferably to Andaman and Nicobar Islands may register via e-mail or report at the venue on the given dates for spot registration with below mentioned details: 1) Copy of birth certificate. Copy and original of Aadhaar card, Sports certificate (If any) and four passport size photos.
The trials will be conducted for candidates as per the schedule given below:

05.10.2023 at 1.30 pm and 06.10.2023 at 9 am. Venue: GSSS, Kamorta, Nicobar District- 744303
Trainees have been advised to carry sports specific uniforms and their own bedding, if accommodation is required by the trainee. (Lodging facility will be provided for free if required). The selection will be based on age verification, medical fitness, skill tests of specific discipline, Sports Training Centre battery of tests etc. Those with no earlier experience in sports can also participate.
