Port Blair, Oct. 10: World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10, every year, providing an invaluable opportunity to foster dialogue, awareness, and understanding surrounding mental health issues. The theme of World Mental Health Day 2023 is ‘Mental health is a universal human right.’

As part of the observance, under National Mental Health Programme, an outreach activity was conducted at Andaman College to observe World Mental Health Day today. Ms Jochibed Vincent, HoD of English Department appraised about the objective of conducting awareness activities. Dr. Satyajit Halder (Joint Secretary - National Mental Health Program Andaman / State Programme Coordinator - TeleMANAS), Smti Hemalatha (Clinical Psychologist- NMHP) & Ms. Aysha Sherin (Counsellor - TeleMANAS) sensitized the students & faculty about the significance of the day and about the free Tele-Mental Helpline services (TeleMANAS - 14416 or 18008914416) all over the country round the clock, particularly catering to people in remote or under-served areas.
