Port Blair, March 12: The State Child Protection Society (SCPS) under Directorate of Social Welfare organized a prize distribution ceremony to applaud the creativity and dedication of the young participants of the Swachhata Abhiyan Drawing Competition. The event took place in the chamber of the Director of Social Welfare, celebrating the impressive artwork and commitment of the contestants in promoting cleanliness and hygiene.

The Programme Manager (SCPS) welcomed the gathering. The talented contestants were classified into three different age categories – 8 to 9 years, 10 to 13 years, and 14 to 17 years, each showcasing their unique perspectives and imaginative skills in relation to the Swachhata Abhiyan.

During the ceremony, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and consolation Prize winners from each age category were felicitated by the Director of Social Welfare. The Women Welfare Officer and Probation Officer (JH) were also present on the occasion.

Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social Welfare), congratulated all the winners and shed light on the significance of initiatives like the Swachhata Abhiyan in our society. His words echoed the importance of promoting cleanliness and instilling a sense of responsibility towards maintaining a healthy environment. The heart-warming gratitude expressed by the parents of the winners added a distinct touch of appreciation for the Directorate of Social Welfare for arranging this exceptional ceremony, underscoring the impact of such initiatives on the community as a whole.

The program ended with the vote of thanks delivered by the Probation Officer (JH).
