Port Blair, Mach 15: In view of the forthcoming General Elections-2024 for the Lok Sabha, Shri. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Returning Officer, Andaman and Nicobar Parliamentary Constituency along with Smt. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police (District), Shri. Vinayak Chamadia, Assistant Returning Officer/Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman, Shri. Anand Vardhan Mishra, ARO/OIC Elections, Shri. Wairokpam Punshiba Singh, IAS (P), Shri. Suvigya S Chandra, IAS (P) and Shri. Mukund Joshi, DANICS visited the Critical Polling Stations of South Andaman District to ascertain the facilities as mandated by the Election Commission of India.

The Returning Officer, ANIPC along with the team of officials inspected the critical polling stations and reviewed all measures to keep a watch on the polling process, as multiple civil measures i.e.

(i) Arrangements of Video camera

(ii) Arrangements of Webcasting

(iii) Necessary CCTV arrangements with regard to provide immediate support, for ensuring free and fair elections and as a confidence building measure for voters.

The Returning Officer, ANIPC directed the concerned Sector Officers and BLOs to ensure that all arrangements are in place on time.
