Port Blair, March 26: The team of Police Station Aberdeen has arrested a thief for the theft of a Motor Cycle from Junglighat. 

On 14.01.2024, a written complaint was received at Police Station Aberdeen regarding the theft of a Motor Cycle bearing Registration No. AN01G/9403. The Complainant stated that the above vehicle was parked at his home parking near old Chirayu Hospital, Junglighat on 04.01.2024 at around 9.00 PM. On the next day i.e. on 05.01.2024 at around 5.00 AM, he found that his bike was missing from his parking space. Upon this written complaint, an FIR vide No. 10/2024, dated 14/01/2024, U/s 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Aberdeen and investigation entrusted to SI P.K Jabbar.

Soon after the registration of FIR, continued efforts were made by a dedicated team comprising of SI P.K Jabbar, HC Vinod Kumar, PCs Jayraj, Surender Singh Yadav, K. Jagdish Babu and Naw Elieen of Police Station Aberdeen to locate the bike as well as the accused by analyzing numerous CCTV cameras which leads to the arrest of the accused and recovery of the stolen bike on 25.03.2024. Further investigation of the cases is in progress.

The entire investigation took place under the guidance of Shri Vikas Swami, IPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman and overall supervision of Smt. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
