Port Blair, March 28: The Scrutiny of the Nomination papers for the General Elections to the House of People from Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency was held today in the Conference Hall of the Office of the Returning Officer, ANIPC in the presence of the General Observer, aspiring candidates and the authorized representatives of the Political Parties.

The scrutiny of nomination papers filed up to 3 pm on 27.03.2024 was taken up for scrutiny on 28.03.2024 from 11 am in the Office of the Returning Officer (Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman) in the presence of Shri B.N Singh, IAS, General Observer of the Constituency.

At the time of Scrutiny of Nomination Papers, necessary arrangements were made to display all the nomination papers, affidavits to all the authorized representatives. Reasonable opportunities were given to the participants for examining the Nomination Papers of all candidates and the scrutiny was held in accordance with the procedure laid down under law one after another as per serial number.

At the end of scrutiny, the nomination papers, including supporting documents, of all candidates were thoroughly examined, out of the thirty nomination papers filed by fifteen candidates, twenty-four nomination papers of the thirteen candidates were accepted while nomination papers filed by two candidates were rejected.
