Commissioning of EVMs & VVPATs Completed

Port Blair, April 7: The Chief Electoral Officer, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS along with Returning Officer, ANIPC, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, today visited EVM & VVPATs warehouse situated near ITF Ground to review the ongoing work of Commissioning of EVMs & VVPATs to be used for the polling on 19th April, 2024 (Poll day). The Commissioning of the EVMs & VVPATs is completed and the mock poll on randomly selected EVMs are being carried out in the Central Warehouse behind ITF Ground in the presence of representatives of contesting candidate and the whole process is videographed.

After mock poll, the EVMs & VVPATs are kept in Strong Room and ready for use in Poll. As per the movement plan, the EVMs will be dispatch to all 412 Polling Stations of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency as per the instructions of Election Commission of India with proper security and under close supervisions of officials. The contesting candidate will also be kept informed about the movement of EVM and VVPAT with other election material.

The Election Commission of India deputed ECIL Engineers for the purpose of smooth Commissioning of the EVMs & VVPATs.

The CEO appreciated the RO, ANIPC, Nodal Officer (EVM & VVPATs) and their teams for arrangements made at the Warehouse as per the ECI instructions.
